This Cuisinart Smart Stick is a solid entry-level immersion blender. The stainless steel shaft feels durable. It purees soups and makes smoothies without splatter. The chopper attachment is decent for onions and garlic, but the bowl is small. It only has one speed, which is a limitation – you can't really control the pulse. I miss having a whisk. The cord is short. At $30, it's okay for basics, but the lack of speed options and extra attachments makes the HB-900PC a better value if you need versatility. For simple blending, this does the job.
